CREATION AND THE CREATOR

Updated: Jan 16, 2020

CREATION

Creation is the act of bringing into existence, bringing about or producing (verb). It can also be the result (of an act of bringing into existence, bringing about or producing) (noun). Before we proceed, let us look at the terms ‘physical’ and ‘physicality’.

All emphases in the definitions are mine.

Merriam Webster has this to say (among other definitions) about the following:

Physical:

Having material existence, perceptible especially through the senses and subject to the laws of nature.

Physicality:

A physical aspect or quality

Predominance of the physical usually at the expense of the mental, spiritual, or social.

What many understand by ‘the physical’ is anything that can be perceived through the five senses: sight, touch, taste, smell and hearing. However, the inability to perceive something or have a conscious experience with one’s unaided five sense organs (eyes, ears, nose, tongue and skin) is not a definitive preclusion of non-existence or the absence of the physical.

A few examples of things that cannot be perceived with the (unaided) five sense organs, but can be perceived through other means, include the following: thoughts (yes even this), waves, dark matter, quantum fields and so on.

This is where physicality comes in. So while physical is limited to the unaided five sense organs, physicality encompasses the physical and that which cannot be perceived with the unaided five sense organs. Physicality includes everything that has form.

Lexico.com (powered by Oxford) defines ‘form’ (noun) as ‘a particular way in which a thing exists or appears, a manifestation.’

Thus, if physicality has to do with everything that has form, then physicality is everything manifested, and if creation is everything brought into existence (manifested), therefore, creation is physicality or form.

THE CREATOR

The Creator is the Source of creation.

Simple, right? However, I will try to shed some more light on this.

I do not have complete knowledge of who the Creator is. My intellect cannot handle it and I refuse to settle for ‘belief’ or ‘faith-based institutionalized conclusions’. I know more of what the Creator is not than who or what the Creator is, which, of course, is not enough. The intellect can be helpful in understanding creation (and even then, the human intellect is still catching up). But when it comes to knowing the Source of Creation, human intellect, at best, is rudimentary.

WHO (OR WHAT) IS THE CREATOR?

“If everything was created, then nothing would exist.”

This is one of the most powerful statements I have ever heard.

It is erroneous to define the Creator using human attributes like a human body, race, gender, personality, religion among others. If we were cows, ants, platypuses, etc, would we define the Creator using the attributes of cows, ants, platypuses, etc? Would the Creator be the biggest cow, the smartest ant with the largest mandibles, or the prettiest platypus, and so on?

What I am trying to say is defining the Creator via the route of identification is assigning limits to the Limitless and therefore illogical and wrong. Read my blog post on identity for more information.

I will attempt to talk about the Creator as best as I possibly can, using language and logic (inductive reasoning). Here we go.

The Creator is that which was never created but is the Source of creation (the Causeless Cause, the Un-Manifest).

If the Creator was never created (meaning it precedes creation), then the Creator transcends physicality and form. If the Creator transcends physicality and form, therefore the Creator is boundless and limitless.

The remarkable order in creation indicates Intelligence that precedes creation. Therefore, the Creator is Intelligence.

If the Creator precedes and is responsible for creation, therefore the Creator and creation are one and inseparable.

Consciousness is that one word that human intellect still does not fully understand. Language and logic can only talk around it but they cannot talk of it in its entirety. Awareness is a product of consciousness. For creation to exist with such mind-blowing order, the Intelligence behind that order (the Source) must therefore be more than just conscious.

That Intelligence, the Creator, must itself be Consciousness.
